Ok, I like the game plan. Who are the coaches?

Colleen HendersonColleen Henderson started performing in public when, at the age of nine, she wrote her first play, cast her neighbourhood friends in supporting roles and rounded up a paying audience outside the front porch of her house.

Writing and performing remained a constant through school. Colleen joined the high school Improvisation team and competed in the Canadian Improv Games in Ottawa. Suffering from terrible nerves and dizzying stage fright, Colleen quickly learned that as long as you can get the audience laughing, you can get away with anything.

Newly confident, Colleen joined a comedy troupe to co-star in a locally produced television comedy series. After only two shows, the young troupe dispersed to start university.

Carleton’s Journalism program honed Colleen’s radio and television broadcasting skills as did a short working stint with Ottawa’s local radio station, CFRA.

From there it was a sharp turn to sales – the job that gave Colleen the chance to quickly realize her dream of traveling the world.

In the last 20 years, a variety of sales and sales management positions provided an opportunity for Colleen to use her presentation skills in a business context, with her eye firmly on meeting her targets and improving the company’s bottom line.

After developing internal training programs for many years and loving it, Colleen decided to become a full time trainer.

On the side, Colleen still writes and while the neighbours aren’t willing to play supporting roles anymore, she’s still pursuing a paying audience.

Testimonial

“Colleen, you did a fantastic job in keeping your presentation simple but very powerful. Too many times presentations can get very complicated and too detailed. You definitely kept us all engaged and everyone took something from your presentation. You made it extremely FUN to learn. Thanks.”
